Welcome to
Not Of This Earth
Myths, Legends, Fables, Folklore,
Tales and Stories. Are they simply the figment of
overactive, bored imaginations? We think not!
Where There's Smoke,
There's Fire!
Like all things accurately or inaccurately
reported, their foundation is grounded within an actual
event. How accurately the event was recorded and preserved
is the big question and depends on several things. Such
as:
-
Available methods of recording the event.
-
The record was done or overseen by an "eyewitness."
-
The original method of documentation remains
unaltered.
Needless to day, the farther back in time we
go, the less dependable the methods of documenting an event
were. Especially when most pre-date "recorded history."
So, what does that leave us to build any
credible hypothesis on? Actually, several things:
-
The fact that multiple cultures, separated by
geographical barriers, could have similar beliefs
is astonishing!
-
The fact that these "beliefs" were translated into
various, yet similar, forms of worship is equally
amazing!
-
Examination of these forms of "worship" reflect
similar tools, vehicles, and even architectures to
perform the ceremonial ritual of worship to the
"Higher Power(s)."
-
The ceremonies and rituals, when examined and
reflected upon, possess an almost orchestrated
structure and organization, combined with gestures,
incantations, gifts, offerings, and sacrifice to
the "Higher Power(s)."
Beliefs Were
Wide-Spread
In reality, antiquity indicates that some type
of worship was taking place on every inhabited continent of
the planet. It was occurring in Mesopotamia, in the Amazon,
on the great plains of North America, in the Nordic regions
and so on. Beliefs were being formed.
Therefore, it follows, and logic would dictate,
that for this type of "trend" to be so prevalent, in so many
various cultures, a catalyst of something or someone was at
work. Additionally, it had the ability to transcend
geographical barriers and the desire to "seed" a similar
message to the inhabitants thereof.
Further, the "message" had a common theme of
reward and penalty. Please the "Higher Power(s)" and reap
their rewards. Or, defy them and suffer their wrath.
But, just WHO were these
Higher Power(s)? Still, WHAT were the
Higher Power(s)? WHERE did they come
from and WHERE did they go? These
questions are where it the real intrigue is!
For Every Reaction,
There Was An Action
You see, if the Gods and
Goddesses, the Angels and Demons, and all the other
characters we may attribute to Mythology were the result of
"imagination," how and why did so many locations on the
planet experience the same fantasy? Why did subsequent
cultures and civilizations, admittedly more advanced,
perpetuate and lend even greater visibility to the supposed
"dream-state" of their ancestors?
Why did the planets inhabitants see fit to
"imagine" offspring and entire families of Higher Powers to
share in the dominion over them? Equally as mystifying is
what caused them to see fit to bequeath the "heavens" to
these Higher Powers when they themselves were so
"terrestrial?"
There is, perhaps, another question that, when
contemplated in relation to the aforementioned ones, adds
even more credibility to a grounded belief in the Higher
Power(s). What would or could it take for the majority of
the planets population, which is admittedly a mortal and
temporal species, to believe in immortality? This question
is amplified when you consider that every experience the
species had ever had, heard of, or been exposed to, says
that immortality does not exist! Put another way, why would
such a great percentage of the population choose to believe
in something that they never knew existed?
We don't think they would! Unless, of course,
there was a high level of confidence in the proof that
immortality was a reality. Further to this point, while
there were apparently only a few in possession of this
wonderful gift, evidently it could be "shared" with mortals.
That is, of course, providing the Gods took a liking to you
as in the example of (Ganymede), or your deeds were such
that it was earned (Enoch).
Will We Ever Know For
Sure?
Believe it or not, we believe that someday additional
information substantiating the foundation in the beliefs of
"The Immortals" will become available. In fact, we believe that
a relatively acceptable explanation is already known to a
few.
Whether we learn that they were the messengers of God,
fallen Angels, or extraterrestrials on a mission of mercy or
plunder remains to be seen.
What is fairly obvious is that if there are any tangible
clues, they are not in the public domain and any traces that
they ever existed at all have been removed or vanished with
time.
What is most certain is that because they have lived in the
minds, if not in the presence, of so many, their energy
exists and is real. It is quite likely that it is as strong
, if not stronger, than in the days when they were not
considered "myths" but Higher Powers who demanded to be
worshipped and adored.
Their reported actions, their wisdoms, and their follies is
what they've left us to learn from. We will do our very best to
present them to you accurately. We do not want to anger the
gods!
